Slovenia Earns Early Lead, Serbia Responds

In a thrilling Group C match at Euro 2024, Slovenia and Serbia played to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday. Slovenia took an early lead through a goal from Zan Karnicnik, but Serbia substitute Luka Jovic headed home a last-gasp equaliser in injury time.

Slovenia Draws First Blood

Slovenia started the match brightly and took the lead in the 25th minute. Karnicnik was afforded a yard of space 25 yards from goal and he made no mistake, firing a low shot into the bottom corner.

Serbia Fights Back

Serbia responded well to going behind and gradually began to dominate possession. They created several chances to equalise, but could not find a way past Slovenia goalkeeper Jan Oblak.

Jovic Rescues Serbia

With time running out, Serbia threw everything forward in search of an equaliser. And in the 92nd minute, they finally got their reward. Jovic rose highest to head home a cross from Dusan Tadic and secure a point for his team.
