The top nine clubs in each conference will qualify for the playoffs. The top seven teams will receive a first-round bye, while the eighth and ninth-place finishers will face off in the Wild Card matches.
The winners of the Wild Card matches will advance to the first round, where they will join the top seeds. The playoffs will then progress through the traditional single-elimination bracket format.
The MLS Cup Final, scheduled for Saturday, December 9, 2023, will determine the league champion.
